What we can do

What does the Woodland Trust do to protect ancient trees under threat?

The Woodland Trust want to hear about any ancient tree near you that is under threat. We will then make investigations and consider what action might be possible to save it. The sooner you let us know, the sooner we can act to protect another wonderful part of our heritage.

The Woodland Trust receives many requests from people seeking help to prevent damage or destruction to a tree they consider important. However, owing to limited resources, we have to prioritise the case in which we choose to become involved. Our priority is to secure the protection of ancient woods and ancient trees.

We can provide you with advice on what action you can take locally to help protect threatened trees. You can also get further information from the woods under threat website or by emailing the Woods under Threat team -
