Cow Bridge Ash

The Cow Bridge Ash in Bedfordshire is a unique tree - and one that holds a special place in many peoples' hearts

Unfortunately, as depicted, the tree has previously been the victim of mindless vandalism. This fire was not an isolated incident - several have been started in the hollow of the tree, despite the addition of a door to block the cavity.

Hopefully the latest door to be fitted will deter any future would-be vandals - it proclaims "Here be Dragons". You can see a picture of this door in the gallery section of the tree's own webpage (link below). Let's hope that these dragons guard the tree well against any potential human fire starters!
