The oldest living tree. Fact!
The oldest living tree has been discovered high up in mountains in a remote part of Sweden. The Norway spruce may only be four metres tall and have a tiny girth; but the root systems have been found to be over 9,000 years old....
Dutch treat 1000-year-old tree
A team of 12 arboriculturists from Holland has paid £400 each to travel to Kent to try to save a 1,000-year-old sweet chestnut tree reports the BBC..

The Endicott Pear Tree, perhaps the oldest fruit tree in America?
The Endicott Pear Tree, also known as the Endecott Pear, is a European Pear tree located in Danvers, Essex County, Massachusetts. It is believed to be the oldest living cultivated fruit tree in North America.
