Great Trees of Derbyshire

The Great Trees of Derbyshire project took place from 2006 - 2008 and was ran by Derbyshire Wildlife Trust in association with Natural England. It was funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and WildDerby (through Derby City Council).

The project involved running a countywide survey of Ancient and Veteran trees involving individuals from groups, communities and organisations as trained volunteer surveyors to produce an inventory of ancient trees in Derbyshire.

The inventory of 4000 plus ancient and veteran trees is available to view through the interactive map of the Ancient Tree Hunt, keeping the spirit of the project alive.
