Introducing Edward Parker - Project Manager for the Ancient Tree Hunt

The Ancient Tree Hunt Team are delighted to welcome Edward Parker as their new Project Manager

In Mid December 2009 EDWARD PARKER took over as Project Manager of the Ancient Tree Hunt. Edward is a well-known photographer and writer who specialises in environmental and social issues around the world. He is particularly well-known for his work on ancient trees and tropical forests.

Edward Parker has written or co-written more than 30 books published in languages as diverse as Japanese and Dutch. He was the co-writer and photographer of ANCIENT TREES – TREES THAT LIVE FOR A THOUSAND YEARS which was one of the first major book celebrating ancient trees from all over the world - from the Amazon to South Korea.

Edward has now been photographing and reporting on environmental issues around the world for more than twenty years. His work has taken him to more than 40 countries and he has worked for many years with organizations that include the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF-UK), the World Wildlife Fund International (WWF-International), Tropical Forest Trust , the Forest Stewardship Council and the Tree Council of the British Isles.

He has been twice “highly commended” in the Wildlife photographer of the year and short-listed for Environmental Photojournalist of the year in 2002 at the British Environmental and Media Awards.

Edward has been a staunch supporter of the Ancient Tree Hunt virtually since it began and has provided inspirational photographic training at many of our events. We are delighted that Edward will be taking the project forward - his knowledge and enthusiasm will be an invaluable asset.
