VI Trees

Country Living magazine, with support from the Woodland Trust, is calling for a national tree register to classify, celebrate and protect the UK’s Very Important Trees (V.I.Trees).

The January issue of Country Living explains why these trees are so important for wildlife. As you know, unlike historical buildings these much-loved living monuments currently have little or no protection, so they risk being lost without a trace. Help us secure the future of Very Important Trees.

A national register will help recognise and celebrate Trees of Special Interest. It will also help landowners properly care for them as they become even older and grander with age, by opening up access to more support through grants and specialist advice.

As ancient tree enthusiasts, we’re asking you to add your voice to this campaign and support a national tree register to secure the future of these remarkable national treasures.
