Veteran oaks of Hatfield captured in paint at Alan Burgess exhibition

A major exhibition of paintings of beautiful trees by the landscape painter Alan Burgess has opened in Stevenage. The show, entitled “Trees in the landscape” runs from 23 November to 6 January and includes a new series of paintings of some the veteran oaks in Hatfield House Park.

Alan Burgess has held numerous one-person exhibitions of his paintings and contributed to many mixed exhibitions. His work is in private collections in nine countries and in public collections in this country. He is also working on another fascinating project, “The Intelligence of Trees” following another extensive painting project "Great British Trees".

The exhibition is at the Boxfield Gallery, Stevenage Arts and Leisure Centre, Lytton Road, Stevenage, SG1 1LZ.

Dates: 23rd November 2012 to 6th January 2013

Admission is free and the gallery is open from 9am until 10pm every day.
