Discover some amazing heritage trees and help secure their future by recording them for the Ancient Tree Hunt. Free. Booking required. Children must be with an adult. Please bring a picnic.

After one hour spent indoors, the remainder of morning recording trees will at Harestanes. In afternoon we will walk the short distance to neighbouring Monteviot House to record trees in the Arboretum and policy park there. Parking available at Harestanes.

Friday 16 August 2013 - Pine recording day at Meggernie, Perthshire
Location: Meggernie, Perthshire. Approx 1hr 40 mins drive from Perth.
Objective: record as many ancient pines as possible
Who: Existing and new volunteer verifiers and recorders; WTS volunteers (all tasks); WTS & ATH partners. Reasonable fitness required.

Time: 10.30am to 3pm

The Ancient Tree Hunt is a living database of ancient and special trees. It was launched in 2004 as a joint venture with the Tree Register of the British Isles and the Ancient Tree Forum, and led by The Woodland Trust.
