Borders Forest Trust comes hunting

A new scheme set up to hunt important trees ripe for recording in the borders

The Borders Forest Trust's vision for the south of Scotland is to sustain a place where a rich tapestry of native woodlands and wild places can flourish, cared for by the local communities that live there. This is why they are our latest organisation to join the Ancient Tree Hunt

With Diane Bennett leading the way with her Green Grounds and Education Officer hat on, you can become part of a volunteer army that will help to record 800 trees across the borders region. From garden landscapes to Ancient Woodland - they need your help to hunt, discover and record.

Diane is a fully trained verifer for the Ancient Tree Hunt and is keen to share her spotting and recording skills with the communities that make up the Borders.

Borders Forest Trust was established in 1996 to conserve, restore and manage native woodlands and other natural habitats for the benefit of people and wildlife. You can get in touch and get involved today.
