What is an Ancient Tree Guardian?

Ancient Tree Guardians help protect our oldest living treasures.

Lead the way to a more enlightened approach to our extraordinary living relics – ancient trees - by becoming an Ancient Tree Guardian.

With your donation of £5000 or more, you will be supporting the Ancient Tree Hunt partners to safeguard the future of the UK’s ancient trees – some of our oldest living treasures.

Your donation will help us to:

• Provide quality advice to landowners, through publications and events
• Influence decision makers to ensure policy and planning instruments take proper account of ancient trees
• Produce publications and online information to illustrate the value of ancient trees
• Bring together a complete record of the UK’s ancient trees through the Woodland Trust’s Ancient Tree Hunt, which is supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund and the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation

In return for your guardianship, we will:

• Draw you closer to the fascinating world of ancient trees
• Provide you with regular information and invitations to special ancient tree events with some of the best ancient tree experts
• Give you a sapling, grown from an ancient oak in a Royal Forest, to plant in the next available planting season – if you do not have room to plant the sapling yourself, we will be happy to plant it for you in one of our woods, with a dedication of your choice
