The oak at 'THE GATE OF THE DEAD'. This tree is situated at a location called the 'Gate of the Dead'. It is a location where a great battle was fought between the Welsh and English armies. The field opposite this tree has never been ploughed since and is said to contain bodies from the battle. More research to follow after chatting with a local resident. RobMcB.
